Editorial Committee of the Journal of Information Processing
Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers for a special issue of "Regional Contribution and Reconstruction".
After the Great East Japan Earthquake, reconstruction of the devastated Tohoku region is the top priority in Japan. In order to make steady recovery of the stricken district, community-based respectful supports are indispensable. At the same time, the voice of the people seeking the continuous dynamic development is heard not only in the suffered regions or megalopolis area but all regions over the country. Business enterprises are required to contribute to local communities and create co-prosperity in the view of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). School Education Act shows universities must play an important role of academic study and human resource development and also demanded to serve research accomplishment to the society. Academic study and research will go a long way toward the pursuit of social and regional evolution. Now we decided to publish on a special issue of "Regional Contribution and Reconstruction". Topics may cover a wide range of issues associated with distribution to local community and reconstruction support; for example, the way to return academic profits to societies, manpower training to support local communities and so on. Dr. Takayuki KUSHIDA of IBM Japan has been invited to act as a guest editor for this special issue.
