Call for Papers - Special Issue of "Collaboration technologies and network services towards the society connecting all people and things"

Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers in a special issue of "Collaboration technologies and network services towards the society connecting all people and things."
With the recent development of information communication technologies, we routinely use communication tools that connect people and people, acquire knowledge from the Internet that connects information and information around the world, and the environment is controlled efficiently by connecting machines and machines. Furthermore, our society is moving to the new stage where all people, things, and information are connected to one another, and consequently the cyberspace and the physical space are integrated. In the 5th Science and Technology Basic Plan of Japan, such a society "connecting all people and things" is called as "Society 5.0", which follows hunter-gatherer society, agrarian society, industrial society and information society, and by realizing it, technological innovation is expected to solve various social problems such as declining birthrate and aging, and energy and environmental problems, and to realize a human-centered society supporting, for example, barrier-free access and multi-cultural symbiosis, while achieving economic development. In such a new society, thanks to the advances on information technologies such as artificial intelligence and IoT (Internet of Things), many people and things are connected and they mutually share information to help one another, so it is expected that advanced technologies to share and link enormously more various and wider information than the information society (Society 4.0) so far will be necessary, which means that academic knowledge on collaboration technologies and network services are now required by the society.
For this special issue, the editorial committee invites paper submissions on topics related to collaboration technologies and network services towards the society connecting all people and things. Relevant topics include (but are not limited to): supporting collaborative work and cooperative activities, knowledge and information sharing, social computing, community analysis, collaborative filtering, safe and secure network services, services using sensor networks, network services for medical care, welfare, disaster prevention, tourism and so on, distributed or real space collaboration, education and learning support, multiplayer games, human communication theories and technologies. Prof. Hidekazu Shiozawa at Tamagawa University has been invited to act as the guest editor for this issue.

Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is currently encouraging more submissions from outside of Japan.
The publication fee of any accepted papers will not be charged if all the authors of the paper belong to institutes outside Japan.

(2) All papers will be reviewed. The review process will be carried out in the same manner as regular issues. However, you have shorter time than usual (eight weeks) for preparation of your responses to inquiries.

(3) Submission deadline is April 2, 2018 April 16, 2018. *Deadline extended

(4) The special issue will be published on the J-Stage website in January, 2019. Preprint will be published on the IPSJ Journal in January, 2019.
