Editorial Committee of the Journal of Information Processing
Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers for a special issue of “Collaboration technologies and network services to support the new normal era”.
In response to the pandemic of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) and the trend of securing social distance, the “new normal” lifestyles that assume remote environments, e.g., telework, distance learning, home delivery and meal delivery services, are spreading. While this irreversible change in the trend of work style innovation and digital transformation will increase lifestyle diversity, including workplace flexibility, it has also raised problems following rapid change to telework and telecommuting-oriented work styles. With the improvement of the COVID-19 situation, there has been some trial and error in the field in terms of the balance and combination of face-to-face and remote work, such as coming to the office and teleworking, or commuting to school and distance learning. We believe that the importance of further evolution of collaboration technologies and network service technologies for transition and adaptation to the new era is increasing.
For this special issue, the editorial committee invites paper submissions on topics related to collaboration technologies and network services to support the new normal era. Relevant topics include (but are not limited to): supporting collaborative work and cooperative activities, knowledge and information sharing, social computing, community analysis, collaborative filtering, safe and secure network services, services providing new values and experiences, services using sensor networks, network services for medical care, welfare, disaster prevention, tourism and so on, distributed or real space collaboration, education and learning support, multiplayer games, human communication theories and technologies. Dr. Masayuki Okamoto at Toyota Motor Corporation has been invited to act as the guest editor for this issue.
