Editorial Committee of the Journal of Information Processing
Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers for a special issue of “Mobile Computing and Intelligent Transport Systems for Next-generation Society and Smart Community”.
Toward the realization of Society 5.0, further development of IoT technologies that collect and utilize data from sensors and various devices, and artificial intelligence technologies that support the utilization of all data is desired. The technologies will enable to create smarter communities, newer services, solutions and industries. In addition, mobile networks, mobile device technologies, and mobile service design technologies will further support social infrastructures targeting not only high performance but also high reliability and sustainability. The importance of these information and communication technologies to support the new social systems that will emerge in the swell of major social changes in the future is increasing, and a variety of research and development is being actively conducted, from basic theory to social implementation and real-world applications. In particular, in the research field of mobile computing and advanced transportation systems, there is a great deal of ongoing research and development. For example, B5G/6G, edge computing, sensing technology using mobile and IoT devices will enable cyber-physical systems that can make predictions and optimizations, and feed them back to the real world.
Taking such big trends into consideration, the theme of the special issue aims to capture recent results, emerging approaches, and technical solutions for dealing with mobile networks, edge computing, sensing technology using mobile terminals and IoT devices, cyber-physical systems for next-generation society and smart community. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
・Mobile Communication System (Architecture, Protocol, QoS, Management, Security)
・Sensor Network, IoT Appliance / Home Network, Next-Generation Mesh Network
・Communication Media (6G, LPWA, Satellite, Millimeter-Wave, Wireless LAN, NFC)
・Mobile / Pervasive / Ubiquitous / Wearable Computing
・AI / Edge Computing / Cyber-Physical System / Big Data
