Editorial Committee of the Journal of Information Processing
Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers for a special issue of " Network operational technologies with awareness raising". In Japan, the wearing of masks as a measure against novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was left to individual judgment March 2023 and COVID-19 was also repositioned under the Infectious Disease Control Law May. The new normal lifestyle that had begun the year before last has finished and life before COVID-19 has been returning. Telework and online lectures, which were established during the pandemic, have already become a part of daily life and are expected to continue to be used in the future. It follows that both the information systems that were used before the pandemic and those that were developed in response to the pandemic will need to be operated. The importance of the network is increasing day by day and the burden on those who operate and manage the network will never lessen. Fortunately, technologies for monitoring and controlling these systems have been developed, but it is often the case that the vast amount of monitoring data is utilized only after a failure occurs. Appropriately utilizing this data and noticing signs of failure in information systems or networks before they occur must be required for improvement of the availability of information systems and for reduction of the burden on operation managers. In addition, it is important to make information system users aware of failures so that they can take appropriate actions. It is also necessary to utilize technologies that minimize damage of a failure by making users aware in advance of what will happen when the failure occurs in the system in operation.
This special issue focuses on issues and approaches that are related to network operation and management technologies that raise awareness of operators, administrators, and users in information systems or networks. We will publish papers on the latest research, development, experiment, and operation to implement and utilize future infrastructure systems. We evaluate papers that solve problems in practice rather than in theory and are considered useful in other environments. The special issue aims to contribute to the evolution of various operation technologies related to information systems. The topics of interest include, but not limited to:
● Technology for system operation, management, monitoring, or control
● Technology for handling system failures
● Education of human resources in system operation and management
● Other topics related to system operation and management or ICT
We invite Noriaki YOSHIURA of Saitama University as the guest editor for the special issue.
