Call for papers - Special issue of "Collaboration technologies and network services in the age of AI"

December 13, 2024
Editorial Committee of the Journal of Information Processing

Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers for a special issue of “Collaboration technologies and network services in the age of AI.”
In the modern era, AI and digital technologies have become core components of everyday life. The advancement of the AI era has revolutionized human work styles and communication methods, making cooperation across remote locations and international information exchange commonplace. These developments have spawned innovative forms of collaboration among diverse groups of individuals and organizations, facilitating creative and efficient problem-solving. Nevertheless, the rapid evolution of these technologies also brings significant challenges, such as privacy concerns, an increasing digital divide, and the weakening of human connections. As AI-enhanced communication improves convenience, it simultaneously reduces informal interactions and serendipitous exchanges, further diluting personal relationships. Amid these dynamics, the revaluation of interpersonal and social connections has become crucial. Addressing these issues to foster a harmonious coexistence of technology and humanity is critical, underscoring the growing importance of collaboration technologies and network services.
For this special issue, the editorial committee invites paper submissions on topics related to collaboration and network services to contribute to the further development of research. The main topics of this special issue include, but are not limited to, communication and interaction, awareness, knowledge management, information sharing technologies, distributed/physical space support systems, AI/robotics applications, cyberspace and metaverse, multi-user/multi-modal interfaces, remote work/telework, cross-cultural exchanges, dialogue analysis, and social/administrative services. We also invite submissions on theories and technologies of collaboration and network services, as well as practical evaluations in various fields such as healthcare, welfare, education, disaster prevention, and tourism. We encourage vigorous submissions and look forward to your contributions. The editorial process for this issue will be conducted under the “Guest Editor System.”
